Future Faculty is an organization at the Sahlgrenska Academy that promotes the interests of junior scientists. To support junior scientists is of vital importance for the role that Sahlgrenska Academy plays nationally and internationally as a successful institution of higher education and competitive research.
Future Faculty is for those with a Ph.D. degree who are actively doing research, however, without a permanent postition as lecturer or professor, at Sahlgrenska Academy. Membership is free of charge.
What are Future Faculty's main goals?
Future Faculty arranges seminars and courses that cover issues important to junior scientists. These events are open to all members and are free of charge. All members will be notified by e-mail via the Sahlgrenska Academy office.
Future Faculty wishes to inspire the Academy to support and maintain the competence of junior scientists as well as simultaneously support an enhanced growth in research and teaching. In addition, Future Faculty would like to increase the influence of junior scientists by providing information regarding ongoing issues at the Academy. Through this, junior scientists participate actively in the decision at the faculty.
Future Faculty aims to achieve representation in all institutional boards and in the board of the Academy. Future Faculty at Sahlgrenska Academy is represented in the National Network of Junior Scientists (NOJS), through Erik Pålsson and Petronella Kettunen.
In the future, Future Faculty wishes to address issues that concern career planning and guidance, mentoring programs, and alternative career paths outside academia.
Future Faculty seminars and courses are open to all members. Please sign up for a free membership by sending an e-mail to Future Faculty to receive regular information about upcoming events.
